2008 Fantasy Football Player's Edge (regular season):
http://fantasyfootballplayersedge.blogspot.com
Roster Shuffle:
Billy Wagner had a 25 pitch bullpen session and
may throw an inning for Single A Brooklyn over
the weekend. The saga of will he return or won't
he continues unabated.
George Sherrill is still a week from rejoining the
Orioles bullpen. He's expected to close.
Troy Percival was activated from the DL by the
Rays yesterday.
Shaun Marcum has been recalled by the Blue
Jays and has the ability to throw quality innings.
He's worth a flier if you're SP poor heading deep
into the playoffs.
Ben Sheets is not expected to miss a turn and
wants to pitch on Saturday vs. the Padres.
Johnny Cueto returns on Saturday to face the
Cubs. The time off may benefit the flamethrower.
Brandon Morrow has been recalled and will
start on Friday for the Mariners vs. the Yankees.
His starts at Triple A were pedestrian but he's a
good gamble if you need help at SP.
Rich Harden's next start will be skipped in an
effort to keep him healthy. It's not clear when he
will return to the rotation.
Clayton Kershaw returned from the minors in
good form earning a win over the Padres last night.
Carlos Quentin sat out with a sore left forearm.
He's day to day.
Carlos Beltran returned to action after hurting
his knee in a collision with an umpire.
Carlos Guillen is still plagued by back problems
and may not return until the weekend.
Chipper Jones couldn't go after hurting his right
knee in batting practice. The severity of the injury
is not yet known.
Kevin Youkilis was out of action again one day
after returning from a bout with the flu with back
spasms. He's day to day.
Kaz Matsui was activated and on the bench for
the Astros last night.
Andre Ethier will be leaving for several days to
be with his wife for the birth of their first child.
The when will depend on nature so keep an eye
on this if you use Ethier in your lineup.
Dallas McPherson, he of 42 Triple A homers,
has been called up by the Marlins. It remains to
be seen how much PT he gets while the Fish are
still in a pennant race.

Strategy: Bye Week.
Game Keys: Bye Week
Final Thoughts:
PE has won the league and earned a 1st round bye in the playoffs.
The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
