Rookie C sensation Geovany Soto was a late
scratch due to a sore left hand. He's day to day.

Chipper Jones had to leave last night's game
with a sore shoulder.

Chone Figgins has a bruised elbow and is day
to day.

B. J. Upton took batting practice and could
pinch hit if necessary. He should return to the
Rays lineup today or tomorrow.

Hanley Ramirez missed another game with
a sore shoulder. He's expected to return any
day.

Mike Lowell has been shutdown for the next
few days. He could be back on Monday.

Jake Peavy missed his start last night to be
with his wife who went into labor. He's likely
to start on Monday so he shouldn't miss a
start.

C.C. Sabathia is starting today on 3 days
rest vs. the Reds. Activate him immediately.

has no history vs. the Tigers. 2-0, 0.00/.57 with

/.91 with 12 k's in 11 frames since being activated.

Strategy: PE dropped SP Scherzer for SP stream
Acevas for today. SP Sean Gallagher was selected
for a start tomorrow with Acevas being dropped.
OP countered with 2 moves. Lopez was released
for SP Kuroda today and Kuroda was dropped for
SP Arroyo tomorrow. PE will add SP David Price
tomorrow for a possible start on Tuesday. Also,
PE would like to reacquire Scherzer for a start
on Wednesday. Gallagher would be used to pick
up Price and ideally OF Chris Young would be
used on Monday for Scherzer.


Game Keys: PE SP Scherzer and 1 closer were
able to aggregate 7 innings allowing 4 runs on 11
whip with 11 k's while earning 1 Save. OP Myers
and 2 closers combined to yield 10 runs on 12 whip
with 5 k's in 5.1 innings. OP did not have a W or a
Save on the evening. PE offense came to life going
14/36 with 6 runs, 1 homer and 6 rbi. OP hitters
were off again going 7/33 with 4 runs, 2 homers &
7 rbi enabling PE to take a modest lead in Runs and
to close the gap appreciably in BA. PE leads 6-3 but
OP has the only category lock with an advantage of
14 in RBI.


Final Thoughts:

PE has won the league and enters the league championship.

The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
