2008 Fantasy Football Player's Edge (regular season):
http://fantasyfootballplayersedge.blogspot.com
Roster Shuffle:
Phenom David Price has been called up by the
Rays and is likely to work out of the bullpen for
an appearance or 2 before starting a game next
weekend.
Pedro Martinez had his start today pushed off
until Tuesday. Adjust accordingly.
Eric Bedard threw a successful bullpen session.
It's unclear whether he'll pitch again this year.
Ryan Dempster owners may lose his start on
Sunday as Piniella has several options including
Zambrano because of the cancellations caused
by Hurricane Ike.
Brad Penny is adamant about returning to the
rotation this season. Torre may accommodate
bad Brad if he's effective in relief appearances.
Jeremy Guthrie is likely to be shutdown for
the season.
Takashi Saito will be activated today and
work set up initially.
Evan Longoria could be back with the Rays
tomorrow.
Todd Helton has been activated but it's likely
that he'll pinch hit and spot start for the rest of
the season.
Mark Teixeira, Chone Figgins and Josh
Hamilton returned to active duty last night.
Chone came on as a pinch runner.
Alex Gordon was activated by the Royals
last night.
Rick Ankiel is probably done for the season
with an abdominal strain.
J.D Drew could return to action today for the
Red Sox.
Conor Jackson sat out last night with a sore
shoulder.
Chipper Jones would have been out last night
had the game not been rained out. Make sure he
is active before starting him today.
Streamers: (tomorrow's probable starters available as free agents)
Use these players to gain advantage in wins and strikeouts.

Jeremy Sowers- has good track record vs. the Royals.
2-1, 2.50/1.28 over 18 innings.

^ -designates an active player on today's roster.
Daily Activity:
PE Cain(dropped)/Scherzer-Thur
PE Shields(dropped)/Danks-Sat
Strategy: PE dropped SP Shields for SP stream
Danks to offer PE maximum roster utilization on
Sunday as Danks pitches in the late game. Shields
will be benched today vs. the Yankees. PE needs
to have K insurance hence the addition of Danks.
The contest closes out with PE having SP Young
on Saturday vs. OP Wainwright and PE Scherzer
against OP Halladay on Sunday. Danks will only
be used if necessary. PE still has concerns that
the offense will do enough to win more than one
category.
Game Keys: PE SP Harang was brilliant but very
unlucky allowing 0 runs on 5 whip with 4 k's over
7 innings but was denied a W. OP had a save. PE
has 3 starts remaining on the roster vs. 2 for OP.
PE continues to play shorthanded on offense and
had a disappointing showing going 3/17 with 2 runs,
3 rbi and 1 stolen base. OP offense went 4/13 with
1 run, 1 rbi and 3 steals. There were several rainouts
that will be made up today as twinbills. The contest
rolls down the river with PE leading 5-4. Every point
is in play over the final 2 days.
Final Thoughts:
PE has won the league and enters the semifinals of the playoffs.
The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
All Done!
