Roster Shuffle:

Fausto Carmona was solid in his 1st rehab start allowing
only 1 hit over 4 innings.

Bobby Jenks will have a second rehab appearance today
and will be activated on Friday by the White Sox.

Takashi Saito has a sprained ligament in his right elbow
and will be shutdown for 6 weeks before being evaluated
again. There is some speculation that his season is over.

Yunel Escobar has an inflamed rotator cuff and should
return to the Braves lineup on Friday.

Jerry Hairston Jr. was diagnosed with a mild strain in
his right hamstring. Considering that he was carried
from the field on Sunday this would have to be deemed
good news. He'll be evaluated again on Thursday but it
looks like he won't miss much time, if any at all.

Ryan Zimmerman went 2/5 at Single A Potomac and
could be ready to rejoin the Nationals over the weekend.

Magglio Ordonez played in a Single A game going 1/4 and
experienced no issues with the strained oblique.

Injured Yankees OF's Hideki Matsui and Johnny Damon
may be out of action longer than expected. Matsui had
soreness in his knee after a BP session and Damon has
been unable to participate in baseball activities due to
continued pain in his shoulder. Matsui, in fact, is facing
season ending surgery.

David Ortiz took several rounds of BP before the Home Run
Derby driving several balls out of the park. He should return
on the 25th against the Yankees.

733. That's the number of innings used that would keep you
on track to deploy maximum innings (1250) over the course
of the season in Rotisserie. A number significantly above or
below should be a call to action.


Streamers: (tomorrow's probable starters available as free agents)

Use these players to gain advantage in wins and strikeouts.

Garrett Olson- a stream "stretch" but he is the only plausible
possibility on the board. He has no history vs. the Tigers but
has been fortunate at Camden Yards. 3-0, 4.28/1.40 with 27
k's in 34 frames at home this year.

Use these players to fill in for injured players and on off days.

Jody Gerut- has a real affinity for Kyle Lohse's stuff. 9/25,
3 extras, a homer, 4 rbi and a stolen base

Jay Payton- has had reasonable successful against Rogers.
7/21, 3 extras, a jack with 0 k's vs. the Gambler.

Strategy: PE Hairston has a mild hamstring strain which would
normally be considered good news for fantasy owners. In this case
it causes roster uncertainty which is problematic as PE would like
to retain Hairston because of his multi-position eligibility. Hairston
could return on Thursday but his availability will not be determined
until game time. Yunel Escobar should return on Friday while Saito
was dropped, due to an extended absence with an elbow strain, for
Jody Gerut as a spot play. PE could have 4 active players on offense,
if Hairston plays on Thursday vs. 4 for OP.

Final Thoughts:

PE is in 1st place by 3 points over the 2nd place club and 7 ahead
of the 3rd place team heading into a shortened Week 16 showdown
with a pitching laden OP. PE has gone 26-11-3 over the 1st 4 weeks
of the 2nd half of the season while facing the other top 3 teams in
the league.

The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
