Roster Shuffle:
Aaron Harang had a successful 50 pitch simulated
game. He'll throw a bullpen session on Friday and if
all goes well he'll head out to Triple A for a 75 pitch
start on Monday or Tuesday. He'll probably stretch
out one additional outing in the minors which would
have him returning to the Reds rotation around the
13th.
Adam Wainwright struggled in a bullpen session
yesterday. The Cards are now saying that he will not
begin a rehab assignment for 7 to 10 days.
Chris Carpenter returned to action last night facing
the Braves. He went 4 innings throwing 67 pitches.
Kerry Wood suffered a setback when the blister on
his finger prevented him from throwing a simulated
game. His status should be updated today but he is
not expected to return to the Cubs anytime soon.
Milton Bradley sat out last night with a sore quad.
Check the Rangers box daily before using him.
Michael Young was not in the Rangers lineup last
night as he tries to overcome the effects of a broken
ring finger.
Cristian Guzman's MRI on his right thumb was
negative. He's day to day.
Scott Rolen was scratched last night due to a sore
shoulder.
Rick Ankiel missed his 4th consecutive game with
an abdominal strain.
Paul Konerko may be benched for poor performance.
He should not be active on your roster.
Khalil Greene fractured his hand punching a storage
chest out of frustration for a season long slump.
David DeJesus is out with a sore back.
Ivan Rodriguez was traded to the Yankees creating a
full time catching gig for Brandon Inge. Both players
gain a bit of fantasy value from this transaction.
Streamers: (tomorrow's probable starters available as free agents)
Use these players to gain advantage in wins and strikeouts.
Nick Blackburn- has a decimated opponent coming into
the Metrodome. 2-0, 1.82/1.01 in 25 innings vs. Cleveland
and 5-2, 2.70/1.22 in 57 frames at home.
Chris Volstad- Marlins prize prospect has been impressive.
He had a win over Colorado in relief in his 1st major league
outing. 2-1, 2.38/1.19 in 23 innings this season.
Spotties: (tomorrow's position players available as free agents)
Use these players to fill in for injured players and on off days.
Jay Payton- has a knack for hitting Washburn. 10/24, 7
extras, 2 jacks and 5 rbi.
Ross Gload- hits Vazquez hard. 8/18, 3 mults and 4 rbi.
Start/Sit: (today)
Guide to using bench players when matchups are favorable.

5 extras, 3 bombs, 10 ribbies and a stolen base.

Kendrick. 4/9 with 3 extra base raps.

Scott Baker.

Daily Activity:
PE Blackburn(drop)/Kuroda-Sun
PE Kuroda(drop)/Davis-Mon
PE Davis(drop)/Johnson-Tue
PE Johnson(drop)/Sanchez-Wed
PE Sanchez(drop)/Blackburn-Thur
Strategy: PE stream Anibal Sanchez joins Rich Harden on
the bump facing Jon Garland for OP today. SP Blackburn
was added for Sanchez. PE will continue to stream looking
to add W's but mindful of ERA/WHIP. OP Garland will face
the Yankees in New York today where he has been rocked
in the past. PE has Harden vs. the Brewers, who are in need
of a win against the Cubs. PE has stream Sanchez facing the
Rockies. He's a risky start because it is his first coming off
an injury but if Harden, who has a day game, wins while
pitching well Sanchez will be benched.
Game Keys: OP offense continues to put pressure on PE by
going 13/34 with 7 runs, 2 homers and 7 rbi. PE hitters were
able to stay in the game with a 10/34 but lost control of HR,
RBI and BA. PE leads by 4 in Runs and has a commanding
6-0 lead in SB. PE pitching enjoyed a W from SP stream Josh
Johnson and added another save to lead W's by 1 and Saves
by 3 while forging a tie in ERA. PE has salted away K's and
has a reasonable cushion in WHIP. PE has 6 active on offense
to 3 for OP today. Heading into the mid-point of the contest
PE leads 6-3.
Final Thoughts:
PE increased the 1st place lead to 9.5 points over the 2nd place
club and 11.5 ahead of the 3rd place team heading into Week 18.
There are only 50 points (5 weeks) left in the season so PE needs
to capitalize on this week's inactive opponent to further the effort
to secure a first round bye in the playoffs.
The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
All Done!
