Roster Shuffle:
Ken Griffey Jr. was traded to the White Sox where
he can play centerfield and DH. Jim Thome and Paul
Konerko are likely to lose AB's to Junior.
Manny Ramirez ended up with the Dodgers joining
an already overcrowded outfield with Pierre, Ethier
Kemp and Jones. Manny's going to play everyday so
something has got to give. Stay tuned.
Jason Bay should benefit from the Green Monster at
Fenway Park now that he's a member of the Red Sox.
Ryan Zimmerman was hit by a fastball on his right
hand and removed from last night's game. He's day to
day.
Joe Crede will begin a rehab assignment over the
weekend and should return to the ChiSox early next
week.
Rick Ankiel is scheduled to return to the Cards today.
Check the box score before using him in your lineup.
Luis Castillo will begin rehabbing soon and should be
back with the Mets in early August.
John Maine's start is likely to be skipped on Sunday
even though he'll be with the team in Houston.
Todd Jones was added to the DL with a sore shoulder.
Kerry Wood threw 26 pitches in a simulated game a
day after Piniella said that he wasn't close to returning.
He was able to throw all of his pitches but was wearing
protection over the finger. He wants to throw a session
today without the covering.

the Marlins. 1-0, .93/1.14 with 8 k's in 10 frames vs. Colorado.

PE Blackburn(drop)/Kuroda-Sun
PE Kuroda(drop)/Davis-Mon
PE Davis(drop)/Johnson-Tue
PE Johnson(drop)/Sanchez-Wed
PE Sanchez(drop)/Blackburn-Thur
PE Blackburn(drop)/Slowey-Fri
Strategy: PE stream Sanchez was benched last night after
Harden's outstanding performance. Unfortunately for PE
Sanchez recorded a W. OP Garland's mediocre outing allowed
PE to use Blackburn today without a great deal of trepidation.
A W would put PE in position to bench all SP's for the rest of
the week. Blackburn was used for SP stream Kevin Slowey
should PE need to continue streaming.
Game Keys: PE Harden was simply outstanding again going
7 frames allowing 1 earned on 6 whip with 9 k's while earning
a W. OP Garland also had a W but was average allowing 3 runs
on 8 whip in 6 innings. PE's 6 hitters erupted going 11/26 with
6 runs, 3 rbi and 2 swipes to retake control of BA and RBI. OP
continues to lead by 1 in HR. PE retains the advantage in all of
the pitching points to head into the turn up 9-1.
Final Thoughts:
PE increased the 1st place lead to 9.5 points over the 2nd place
club and 11.5 ahead of the 3rd place team heading into Week 18.
There are only 50 points (5 weeks) left in the season so PE needs
to capitalize on this week's inactive opponent to further the effort
to secure a first round bye in the playoffs.
The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
All Done!
