Coming Today!!!!

2008 Fantasy Football Player's Edge (regular season):

Roster Shuffle:

Evan Longoria
will not return on Tuesday for
the Yankees series. He's likely to be back by the
weekend.

Miguel Cabrera returned to action yesterday
one day after straining a pectoral muscle.

Josh Hamilton left last night's game with tooth
pain from a root canal. He's day to day but there's
been a lot of talk about him hitting the wall in what
has been a remarkable season. They may chose to
rest him periodically down the stretch so check the
Rangers box daily throughout the fantasy playoffs.

Jeff Kent will have an MRI on his sore left knee.

Melvin Mora avoided the DL as his hamstring
strain should only keep him sidelined for a week
at the most.

Victor Martinez, who sat yesterday, will be used
as a spot play initially until Wedge is convinced
that he can handle the grind. You'll have to verify
daily whether he's starting or sitting.

Kevin Youkilis was scratched due to an illness.

Chris Carpenter was encouraged after throwing
a 60 pitch bullpen session. The Cards are mulling
over bringing him back as a reliever this season.

Billy Wagner may not pitch again until later in
the season and only if a playoff berth is at stake.

Jon Rauch has forearm tightness and won't pitch
for a couple of days.

Kevin Gregg has an inflamed left knee and will be
shut down for a few days.

SP's J. Johnson, J. Santana, Sheets, Lester, C.
Young,
Oswalt, R. Johnson, Wainwright, Lee,
Lincecum,
Carmona, Saunders, R. Dempster,
Mussina, Greinke
and Cole Hamels are the likely
candidates for 2 starts this week. (SP's normally start
on every 5th day so starters on Monday/Tuesday are
likely to pitch on Saturday/Sunday respectively.)

SP stream possibilities for 2 starts this week; Garza,
Parra, Kendrick, Maddux, A. Sanchez, Perkins,
Redding and Y. Petit.
Probables are
chosen based
on having a favorable start on Monday or Tuesday.

1042. That's the number of innings used that would
keep you on track to deploy maximum innings (1250)
over the course of the season in Rotisserie. A number
significantly above or below should be a call to action.

has his old mates from San Diego paying a visit. 9-7, 3.09/

40 k's in 60 innings.

Strategy: PE sends SP's Cain/Shields to face OP SP
Halladay. PE will have a bye week coming up while the
4th and 5th place teams battle for the right to face PE
in the semifinals.

Game Keys: PE SP duo Weaver/Liriano combined to
hurl 12 innings allowing 4 runs, 12 whip and 12 k's. PE
closers had the only Save and W for the day by either
club. PE is now tied in W and controls the other pitching
points. PE offense was solid going 10/32 with 7 runs, 2
homers, 7 rbi and 2 steals. OP was effective with the bats
going 11/39 with 9 runs, 3 jacks, 5 rbi and a steal. PE is
up by 3 in RBI and 1 in SB clinging to a 6-3 advantage
on the final day of the regular season.

Final Thoughts
:

PE increased the 1st place lead to 16 points over the 2nd place
club and 19 ahead of the 3rd place team heading into Week 22.
PE has won the league and earned a 1st round bye in the playoffs.

The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
