^ -designates an active player on today's roster.
Daily Activity:
PE Griffey(drop)/Span-Mon
Strategy: PE has dropped Ken Griffey for Denard Span.
Early indications are the the White Sox are going to use
the future Hall Of Famer as part of a rotation with Thome,
Swisher and Konerko. Griffey can still hit but it appears
that he might only get 4 or 5 games a week. The contest
begins in earnest today with PE SP Harden and 5 closers
going tonight. OP will counter with Gregg and Torres. PE
is hoping that Braun returns soon from ribcage spasms.
He is not expected to play today.
Game Keys: OP's 6 offensive starters went 6/19 with 3
runs. PE only had 4 active hitters but they were more
productive going 5/16 with 3 runs, 2 rbi and a stolen base.
PE Broxton, the only pitcher to make an appearance last
night for either team, stumbled to a 1.1 inning, 2 run, 4
whip save.
Final Thoughts:
PE increased the 1st place lead to 11 points over the 2nd place
club and 15.5 ahead of the 3rd place team heading into Week 20.
With only 30 points (3 weeks) left in the season PE will adopt a
conservative strategy to try to assure roster integrity heading
into the bye week of the playoffs. If PE goes 10-20 during these
final 3 weeks the 3rd place team would need to go 25-4-1 to tie
for 2nd place.
The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
All Done!
