Site updated by 11am EST daily.

Roster Shuffle:

Joba Chamberlain
may return to his original set up
role when he returns from the DL. His fantasy value
would be severely diminished if this happens.

Matt Capps will have at least 2 more rehab starts
before being evaluated next Tuesday. He should
return to the Pirates by the end of next week.

Billy Wagner will be activated on Monday pending
the outcome of a simulated game today.

Todd Jones was activated from the DL by the Tigers
and promptly blew up allowing 6 whip in less than an
inning.

Grant Balfour
will likely get the 1st opportunity to
close for the Rays as Troy Percival was placed on
the DL with a sprained knee.

Chris Carpenter was placed on the DL with a sore
shoulder.

Tom Glavine returned to the DL, after a dreadful
outing, with a sore elbow.

Ryan Dempster will start tomorrow rather than
today due to an undisclosed personal matter.

Josh Hamilton returned to action last night after
spending Thursday with his wife and new born baby.

Ryan Braun sat again last night but may be available
to pinch hit tonight leading to a start on Sunday.

Jacoby Ellsbury was scheduled to start last night for
the Red Sox. The game was rained out.

Jhonny Peralta was struck on the hand by a Cabrera
heater. X-rays were negative and he was back in the
Indians lineup last night.

Yunel Escobar missed last night's game after being
hit on the elbow by a Ted Lilly fastball on Thursday.
He's scheduled to return today.

Aramis Ramirez was sidelined with a sore hip after
sliding into home plate Thursday night.

Aaron Rowand should return to the Giants today.
He has a sore back.

Jerry Hairston Jr. played SS for the Reds yesterday
going 0/4.

Carlos Guillen missed another game due to a soreness
in his lower back.

Marlon Byrd was removed from last night's game with
an elbow injury after crashing into the wall running down
a fly ball.

Garrett Atkins has recovered from a strep throat and
returned to action going 0/4.

B.J. Upton is in Maddon's doghouse again for not playing
all out. He's likely to sit again today and is showing that he
does not "get" it.

Daily Activity:

PE Griffey(drop)/Span-Mon

Strategy: The last of the SP's are going today with PE sending
Harang vs. Greinke/Baker for OP. PE will have all 5 closers on
call against OP Torres/Gregg. PE SS Yunel Escobar was out of
the lineup with a sore elbow and should be back today. Braun
was still sidelined and may pinch hit today and return Sunday.
Carpenter was placed on the DL allowing PE a flex position for
Sunday, if necessary.

Game Keys: PE SP's Cain/Liriano/Weaver combined with 3
closers to register 2 W's and 3 Saves. They went 22.2 frames
allowing 3 runs on 19 whip with 23 k's. OP SP's Garza/Maddux
Moyer and Gregg kept pace allowing 4 runs on 17 whip with 16
k's over 24 innings while earning 2 W's. PE hurlers are sporting
2.41/1.15 (era/whip) and have no chance of taking these points.
W is still in play but Saves and K's are controlled by PE thanks
in part to OP leaving Jurrjens 9 k's on the bench. PE offense,
sans Braun/Escobar, continues to rake going 16/32 with 6 runs,
a homer and 8 rbi. OP, again, stayed close with a 10/28, 8 run
output. PE leads by only 1 in Runs and 2 in HR with OP Pujols
quiet to this point. SB is tied and PE could actually salt away
RBI and BA today with a solid performance on offense. The
match heads down the river with PE holding a tenuous 7-2
advantage.

Final Thoughts:

PE increased the 1st place lead to 11 points over the 2nd place
club and 15.5 ahead of the 3rd place team heading into Week 20.
With only 30 points (3 weeks) left in the season PE will adopt a
conservative strategy to try to assure roster integrity heading
into the bye week of the playoffs. If PE goes 10-20 during these
final 3 weeks the 3rd place team would need to go 25-4-1 to tie
for 2nd place.

The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
