Roster Shuffle:
Joba Chamberlain will return to the Yankees as
a starter according to Joe Girardi.
Adam Wainwright had a superb outing at Double
A Springfield going 4.2 scoreless innings with 7 k's.
He threw 64 pitches. He should rejoin the Cards this
week although his role is not yet defined.
Jonathan Sanchez was scratched from his start
with a strained left shoulder.
Matt Capps will pitch 2 innings in the minors today
and should be recalled by the Pirates on Monday.
Billy Wagner had a limited simulated game of 15
pitches and is experiencing some elbow soreness.
He will not be activated on Monday as expected.
Kaz Matsui seemingly is headed to the DL with
a sore back.
Aaron Hill is done for the season because of the
lingering effects of a concussion.
Aramis Ramirez is still troubled by a sore hip
and sat out a 3rd straight game.
Milton Bradley did not play due to an undisclosed
illness.
Joey Votto has been activated from bereavement
leave.
Travis Hafner begins a rehab assignment at Triple
A Buffalo on Tuesday.
Ryan Braun pinch hit last night and remained in the
the Brewers lineup. He's likely to start today.
Justin Upton is 6/14 on his rehab assignment in
the minors and should return in a matter of days.
The trade for Adam Dunn will cause the D-Backs
to shuffle their lineup when Upton returns. Stay
tuned if you own Tracy, Jackson or Reynolds.
The rhetoric has Reynolds playing 2B in place of
the injured O-Dog.
B.J. Upton will be in the Rays starting lineup this
afternoon.
SP's Maine, Lester, Guthrie, Duchscherer,
Buehrle, Shields, Garland, Sheets, Burnett,
Harden, Haren Sabathia, E. Santana and
Galarraga are the likely candidates for 2 starts
this week. (SP's normally start on every 5th day
so starters on Monday/Tuesday are likely to pitch
on Saturday/Sunday respectively.)
SP stream possibilities for 2 starts this week; Paul
Maholm, Slowey, Blackburn, Jorge Campillo,
Kuroda and Nolasco. Probables are chosen based
on having a favorable start on Monday or Tuesday.
947. That's the number of innings used that would
keep you on track to deploy maximum innings (1250)
over the course of the season in Rotisserie. A number
significantly above or below should be a call to action.

^ -designates an active player on today's roster.
Daily Activity:
PE Griffey(drop)/Span-Mon
PE Carpenter(DL)/Marcum-Sat
Strategy: OP tied W's as Torres vultured a win forcing PE to
stream for a W. PE placed SP Carpenter on the DL and added
SP Shaun Marcum for a Sunday start joining 5 closers on the
bump. OP will counter with Gregg and Torres. PE SS Escobar
returned and Braun pinch hit and stayed in the game. It seems
likely that PE offense will be at full strength today.
Week 21 OP probably has the league's most formidable offense.
OP features, Alex Rodriguez, Derrek Lee, McCann, Phillips,
Abreu, Michael Young, Ichiro, Jose Guillen, Thome and boasts
a bench of Ankiel, Giambi, Sheffied and Alex Gordon. There's
not a single category weakness in this lineup. OP's staff is very
questionable with Blanton, Greg Smith, Guthrie, Lowe, Meche
and closer Street with setup men Isringhausen and Marmol.
OP has 7 starts on the roster next week.
Game Keys: A funny thing happened on the way to today's
finale, OP Pujols woke up and cracked a pair of homers. OP
Torres had a W out of the bullpen and the contest is tied in
4 categories; Runs/HR/SB/W. PE will send stream SP Marcum
in search of a W and should have a full compliment of hitters.
Early week PE pick up Span stole a base to offset a swipe by
OP Dunn. PE Young's grand slam tied the category providing
a bit of breathing room for PE in RBI. Saves/K/BA are fairly
secure for PE and ERA/WHIP are in OP's column. The contest
stands at 4-2 for PE with 5 points in play.
Final Thoughts:
PE increased the 1st place lead to 11 points over the 2nd place
club and 15.5 ahead of the 3rd place team heading into Week 20.
With only 30 points (3 weeks) left in the season PE will adopt a
conservative strategy to try to assure roster integrity heading
into the bye week of the playoffs. If PE goes 10-20 during these
final 3 weeks the 3rd place team would need to go 25-4-1 to tie
for 2nd place.
The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
All Done!
