Roster Shuffle:

Rick Ankiel is still not healthy as he tries to play
through an abdominal strain.

Howie Kendrick was placed on the DL with a
strained hamstring.

Kaz Matsui should return on Monday from his
sore back.

Michael Bourn will get most of the starts in CF
for the Astros in September. He's a great source
of steals but little else.

Troy Percival threw BP and is expected to be
activated either Saturday or Monday when the
rosters are expanded.

Josh Beckett had been scratched from his start
this evening and instead is off to see Dr. James
Andrews for an elbow examination. The Red Sox
are saying it's strictly a precaution. Let's see what
Dr. Andrews says.

Rafael Soriano had elbow surgery and should be
at full strength for spring training.

Joba Chamberlain expects to return to the bullpen
when he's activated. This will mitigate any remaining
fantasy value he has for the stretch run.

Darrell Rasner- has solid starts at home and against Toronto.
2-0, 3.57/1.13 with 12 k's in 18 frames vs. the Blue Jays.

Ubaldo Jimenez- enjoys the expansive confines of Petco Park.
2-2, 2.64/1.04 with 34 k's in 31 frames and 1-2, 2.60/1.15 with
25 k's in 17 innings at Petco.

Strategy: PE has 5 starts remaining for the week vs. 3
for OP. PE Figgins returned to action yesterday.

Game Keys: PE SP Harang and 1 closer combined to
pitch 8 innings allowing 3 runs, 8 whip, 9 k's and a save.
PE had only 5 active on offense going 4/19 with 2 runs,
1 homer, 1 rbi and 2 steals. OP offense sputtered with a
5/18 and 2 runs. The match remains deadlocked at 5-5.


Final Thoughts:

PE increased the 1st place lead to 16 points over the 2nd place
club and 19 ahead of the 3rd place team heading into Week 22.
PE has won the league and earned a 1st round bye in the playoffs.

The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
