2008 Fantasy Football Player's Edge (regular season):

http://fantasyfootballplayersedge.blogspot.com

Roster Shuffle:

Evan Longoria
will not return on Friday as was
planned. He's more likely to be back on Sunday
or Monday.

Carlos Guillen is improving and the Tigers
hope to have him for the weekend series vs
the White Sox.

Travis Hafner was activated from the DL and
went 2/4.

B.J. Upton will rest his sore quad for a few days.

Brandon Phillips is out for the season with a
broken finger.

Chone Figgins sat out with a sore elbow after
being hit by a pitch on Monday. He's day to day.

Paul Konerko injured a knee in a rundown. He's
scheduled for an MRI today.

Troy Glaus strained his shoulder on a swing and
had to leave last night's game.

Torii Hunter was removed with a strained quad
and is unlikely to play today. The Angels play a
day game so check Hunter's status to be certain.

Milton Bradley was out again with a strained
lower back.

Chris Volstad was pulled in the 3rd inning after
being hit on the lower right leg by a batted ball.

David Price may be called up to the Rays soon.
He's worth a priority waiver as he could give any
rotation a real boost for the playoffs.

George Sherrill is expected to throw a simulated
game today and could be closing for Baltimore by
Friday.

Takashi Saito is close to returning and could be
activated over the weekend. It's unclear what role
he will assume.

Streamers: (tomorrow's probable starters available as free agents)

Use these players to gain advantage in wins and strikeouts.

Shaun Marcum- is still available in free agency
in many leagues. 2-0, 2.04/.79 with 21 k's in 18
innings vs. the White Sox.

Dallas Braden- is not a great stream today but
if you're desperate for a W and K's, he's usable.
0-1, 3.57/1.37 with 17 k's in 15 frames against
the Rangers.

Spotties: (tomorrow's position players available as free agents)

Use these players to fill in for injured players and on off days.

^ -designates an active player on today's roster.

Daily Activity:

Strategy: PE sends 5 closers to face off against OP
SP's Nolasco/Halladay, 2 closers and 2 set up men.
PE's 7 starts begin on Thursday with SP's Liriano/
Cain/Harden. There's also a possibility that Weaver
will go for PE on Thursday as well. OP will have 2
starts remaining on the roster after tonight with SP
Volstad iffy for Sunday due to being removed from
last night's game after being hit by a batted ball. PE
will have a minimum of 5 starts on Thursday/Friday
leaving a clear picture of the pitching points for a
possible streaming strategy over the weekend. The
offensive points are all in play currently even though
OP has 20 more AB's week to date.

Game Keys: PE offense gained ground in BA going
11/28 but could only amass 5 runs, 2 rbi and a stolen
base. OP offense sputtered going 9/36 but managed
to be productive with 5 runs, 2 homers and 7 rbi. PE
Cordero had another save. OP's Wilson's blown save
resulted in a W when the Giant's rallied in the bottom
of the 9th. PE trails 6-4 but nothing has been decided
in any category.

Final Thoughts:

PE has won the league and enters the semifinals of the playoffs.

The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
