2008 Fantasy Football Player's Edge (regular season):

http://fantasyfootballplayersedge.blogspot.com

Roster Shuffle:

Carl Pavano
was injured again and had to leave
yesterday's game vs. the Rays. He's expected to
make his next start.

Armando Galarraga will skip his next start on
Tuesday. He's probably wearing down a little.

Justin Duchscherer will throw a bullpen session
and could return to the A's rotation later in the
week.

Milton Bradley, seems of late, to be very fragile.
He was out again with a sore hip.

Conor Jackson had a cortisone shot and hopes to
return today.

Paul Konerko remains out with a sore knee and is
unsure of when he'll return.

Troy Glaus was hoping to return yesterday but sat
out. He's likely to be day to day so check the Cards
box daily if you'd like to start him.

1147. That's the number of innings used that would
keep you on track to deploy maximum innings (1250)
over the course of the season in Rotisserie. A number
significantly above or below should be a call to action.

Streamers: (tomorrow's probable starters available as free agents)

Use these players to gain advantage in wins and strikeouts.

Dustin Nippert- has no history vs. Detroit but has
pitched well this season. 2-1, 2.08/1.27 with 18 k's in
17 innings this year.

Braden Looper- has solid track record vs the Reds.
4-1, 2.93/1.06 in 58 frames.

Use these players to fill in for injured players and on off days.

^ -designates an active player on today's roster.

Daily Activity:

PE Danks(dropped)/Jimenez-Sun
OP Beltre(dropped)/Acevas-Sun
PE Jimenez(dropped)/Cain-Mon

Strategy: PE stream Jimenez's Monday start
was pushed back until Tuesday. He was used
for SP Matt Cain. The net result is PE will only
get the benefit of Cain's start while OP has SP
Alfredo Acevas going today and will certainly
drop Acevas for another start tomorrow. By
taking Cain off the board PE is hoping that OP
will take the bait and stream a poor matchup.
PE has 4 closers matching up against 1 SP and
2 closers for OP today. PE has 14 starts on the
current roster compared to 14 for OP. PE will
send 4 potential active players vs 5 for OP for
today.

The Championship OP is very aggressive using
streaming and spot plays daily. His base offense
features Fielder/Howard with a good supporting
cast of Hart/Markakis/Zimmerman/Renteria.
His core SP's are formidable with Sabathia/Myers
/Billingsley/Oswalt/Morrow the headliners. OP
has 4 closers, Valverde/Lidge/Gonzalez/Hanrahan.
This will certainly be a competitive championship
series.

Game Keys: PE closed out the match 8-1 to
catapult into the 2 week Championship final.

Final Thoughts:

PE has won the league and enters the league championship.

The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
