2008 Fantasy Football Player's Edge (regular season):

http://fantasyfootballplayersedge.blogspot.com

Roster Shuffle:

Alex Rodriguez
sat yesterday with a stiff neck.
He did return for the nightcap vs. the Rays.

Evan Longoria returned to action with a bang
going 2/5 with 2 rbi.

B.J. Upton is expected to play on Monday vs.
the Red Sox.

Vlad Guerrero has a knee irritation and will
sit out until at least Tuesday.

Andre Ethier has left the team to be with his
wife who is delivering their first child. He'll be
away for a few days.

J.D. Drew had a setback and will not be ready
to play during the Rays series. He's nursing a
sore back.

Michael Cuddyer has been activated and is a
nice spot play if you need the OF help.

Adrian Beltre will have season ending surgery
next week and will only play through today.

Phil Hughes is expected to start vs. the White
Sox on Wednesday. He's not a safe start at this
point.

Dallas Braden had his next start pushed back
due to a sore groin.

Chad Qualls has unseated Brandon Lyon as
the D-Backs closer. Grab him today if you need
saves in your league championship.

1140. That's the number of innings used that
would keep you on track to deploy maximum
innings (1250) over the course of the season
in Rotisserie. A number significantly above or
below should be a call to action.

^ -designates an active player on today's roster.

Daily Activity:

PE Cain(dropped)/Scherzer-Thur
PE Shields(dropped)/Danks-Sat
PE Danks(dropped)/Jimenez-Sun

Strategy: PE will start SP Scherzer as a counter
to OP Halladay. PE stream Danks is available if
needed. In anticipation of reaching the league
championship PE has released Danks for stream
SP Ubaldo Jimenez.

Game Keys: PE sat SP Shields who was brilliant
in shutting down the Yankees. PE went with SP
Young who was almost as brilliant combining with
2 relievers to allow 3 runs on 8 whip with 13 k's in
9 innings. PE earned a save. OP Wainwright had
an awful start virtually locking up ERA/WHIP/K
for PE. W is tied and PE had a lead of 3 in Saves.
PE's offense finally came to life going 13/45 with
10 runs, 4 homers, 9 rbi and 1 stolen base while OP
offense struggled going 8/31, 4 runs, a homer and
4 rbi. PE takes a commanding 8-1 into the final day
of play including control of the all important ERA
tiebreaker. It's never over until it's over but PE
should prevail and move on to the championship
round.

Final Thoughts:

PE has won the league and enters the semifinals of the playoffs.

The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
