2008 Fantasy Football Player's Edge (regular season):

Roster Shuffle:

The Cubs/Astros games for today and Saturday
have been postponed due to Hurricane Ike. It's
not clear whether they'll try to make up games
on Sunday, Monday or both. Adjust accordingly.

David Price
is likely to make his major league
debut on September 23. The Rays play a twin
bill vs. the Orioles that day.

The Blue Jays are tinkering with their rotation
for the Red Sox series. Burnett will be moved
to tomorrow with Halladay going on Sunday.

Brett Myers will work on short rest facing the
Brewers on Sunday.

Justin Duchscherer had a good side session
but it's unclear whether he'll return this season.

Chris Carpenter is likely done for the season.

George Sherrill was activated yesterday and
will close for the Orioles.

Felipe Lopez will cover for Troy Glaus at 3B
for the Cards. He's a reasonable spot play.

Travis Hafner is going to play every other day
until Wedge is convinced that he's strong enough
to play everyday.

Josh Hamilton left last night's game with a sore
foot. He's day to day but check the Rangers box
daily to assure his availability.

Melvin Mora returned to action last night as a DH.

Mark Teixeira and Chone Figgins sat out again
last night. Big Tex is expected to return today with
Figgins likely out a few more days.

^ -designates an active player on today's roster.

Daily Activity:

PE Cain(dropped)/Scherzer-Thur

Strategy: PE SP Harang and 5 closers face off vs.
OP closers Soria and Brian Wilson and set up men
Rauch and Kuo. PE Cain was used for SP Scherzer
for a Sunday start. OP picked up a start on Sunday
as Halladay was moved up a day to face Boston. PE
has 4 starts left on the roster compared with 2 for
OP. PE continues to be shorthanded on offense as
Teixeira/Figgins/Roberts sat out yesterday. Tex
and Roberts are expected to return today. OP has
41 more AB's week to date but has not wrapped up
a single offensive category. Frankly PE has been
lucky that OP's extra AB's have not resulted in a
wider gap in the offensive points.

Game Keys: PE survived SP Cain's dreadful start
last night. PE SP's Liriano/Harden/Cain/Weaver
and 2 closes combined to hurl 25.1 innings allowing
10 runs on 30 whip with 17 k's while registering 2
W's. PE picked up another save to offset 1 save by
OP. PE has tied W and forged a 2 k advantage over
OP in the category. PE continues to control Saves/
ERA/WHIP. OP offense went 5/26 with 2 runs and
only 1 rbi. PE's shorthanded offense went 6/15 with
3 runs, a homer, 3 rbi and 1 stolen base. PE leads SB
by 5 with the other offensive points still in play. PE
clings to a 5-4 lead as the contest moves on to the
turn.

Final Thoughts:

PE has won the league and enters the semifinals of the playoffs.

The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
