2008 Fantasy Football Player's Edge (regular season):

http://fantasyfootballplayersedge.blogspot.com

Roster Shuffle:

B.J. Upton
is running but no timetable has set
for his return.

Carlos Guillen is close to being shutdown for
the season.

Vlad Guerrero is expected to return today or
tomorrow. Check the Angels box to be certain
that he's active.

Mike Lowell owners should grab a 3B today
as he was in obvious pain last night and may
have to sit out awhile.

Yunel Escobar is listed as day to day with a
strained hamstring. Cox feels that the strain is
worse than a day to day situation.

Troy Glaus returned to action and homered.

Paul Konerko played last night and had 2 hits.

Justin Duchscherer threw off of a mound and
may return this weekend.

Shaun Marcum left his start with numbness in
his forearm. The Blue Jays are likely to just shut
him down for the season.

Streamers: (tomorrow's probable starters available as free agents)

Use these players to gain advantage in wins and strikeouts.

Josh Outman- has limited innings this season. 1-0, 3.86/
1.29 in 9 innings with 6 k's. His last start at home vs. Texas

Daily Activity:

PE Danks(dropped)/Jimenez-Sun
OP Beltre(dropped)/Acevas-Sun
PE Jimenez(dropped)/Cain-Mon
PE Cain(dropped)/Purcey-Tues
OP Acevas(dropped)/Shields-Tues
OP Morrow(dropped)/Francis-Tues
PE Purcey(dropped)/Duchscherer-Wed
PE Duchsherer(DL)/Ayala-Wed
PE Escobar(dropped)/Theriot-Wed

Strategy: PE SP stream Purcey was used for SP
Duchscherer who was immediately placed on the
DL with the empty roster spot used for spot closer
Ayala on Thursday. Johan Santana pitches against
the Nationals tomorrow. There wasn't a solid SP
stream candidate available for Thursday. OP used
SP Morrow late last night for SP stream Francis for
today. Francis was shutdown late last night. PE will
send SP's Harang/Weaver/Purcey and 4 closers to
face OP Billingsley and 4 closers. PE is sitting Putz
to make room for Purcey. PE dropped SS Escobar,
who's battling a sore hamstring for SS Ryan Theriot.
PE was surprised to find Theriot available.

Game Keys: PE SP's Liriano/Cain combined with
4 closers to throw 13 innings allowing 7 runs on 18
whip with 16 k's while earning only 1 save. OP SP's
Sabathia/Oswalt/Morrow and 4 closers kept pace
by allowing 14 runs on 31 whip with 22 k's in 20.1
innings. They were able to secure 2 saves. Neither
staff could book a W. PE offense was dreadful again
going 3/22 with 2 runs and 1 rbi. OP batsmen were,
of course, the counterpoint exploding for 4 homers,
going 12/32 with 7 runs and 9 rbi. There were no
stolen bases night. OP has opened up a significant
advantage in Runs/HR/RBI/BA. Although it's early
on PE can ill afford to continue to sputter on offense
and trails 6-2 heading into today's action.

Final Thoughts:

PE has won the league and enters the league championship.

The Player's Edge participates in many leagues but elected to
follow a team in a Public League to better approximate what might
be faced by a wide majority of players that use the Edge daily.
This team plays in a standard 5x5 scoring format and drafted 7th
of 12 teams in a 21 round on-line live event in late March. We will
follow this team throughout the entire 2008 fantasy campaign.
